The Stone-Scone Tragedy

To each his own; saying thus,
the Prince ate the Pauper's stone.
That is my own, said Prince.
That was a stone, cried the Pauper.
Twas a scone, Pauper!
Twas a stone, right proper.
Deny it or I shall slay thee, said the Prince.
Twas a stone, knave, spoke the Pauper.
The Prince slayed him
and, thinking he had a stone in him,
got a surgeon to take it out.
Turns out it was a scone.
Then the Prince died.
